Exciting News

We have had a lot of exciting things happen in the last couple of months. For one thing we found out the sex of baby number two. We were going to wait until the twenty week check. I was not even sixteen weeks but I just couldn't wait that long. If the ultrasound techs have a student for the day, they will let the student do the ultrasound so they can get more practice. I called down one day while I was working to see if they had a student for the day. They told me they did and to come down around 3 o'clock. I called Dan to see if he could come. He said no that he had to go to his class but he would try to get out of it. I told him not to worry about it that maybe we could do it the next week. I was a little disappointed but I knew we would eventually find out. One of the nurses I was working with said she would just go with me. I told her no that I couldn't find out without him. She was pretty insistent though. So I told her she could go with me but I didn't wait to know and to write what the sex was on a piece of paper and put it in an evelope and when I got home Dan and I could open it together. So at 3'clock we went down to get the ultrasound. I got to see the heartbeat, the spine and profile of the baby and when it was time for the other parts I turned my head. The nurse did better than just write it on a piece of paper. She actually bought that color booties from the giftshop and had them wrapped. I didn't even tell Dan I had the ultrasound done. When I got home I told him I had a surprise (it all worked out really well because he had had a bad day). We handed the box to Maddy and this is what she opened...
Yes, Maddy is going to have a sister! We are so excited to be having another girl. Sisters have such a special bond. I really love my sisters and sisters in laws! They are so amazing. Thanks for each of your examples. I know when I am facing a challenge, need to vent or just need a shoulder to cry on I always can count on one of these wonderful ladies. Maddy's repsonse to naming her sister... Me: What do you want to name your sister? Maddy: Ummm Jello Me: Jello? Maddy: Yes Dan: What color? Maddy: Ummm ite (white) So for now we are calling her white jello April was full of fun and amazing things. Maddy had an Easter egg hunt at her school. I was at work that day but I was going to sneek away to watch her but it started snowing right before so I thought it would be canceled. They decided to still do it inside. When I picked her up from school they had me that after the hunt she crammed as much candy in her mouth as she could before they took her basket away. That really made me laugh. That's my girl! We also had an Easter egg hunt with Dan's family. At the same time we celebrated Sawyer's first birthday and had a pool party. It was so much fun to see all the kids have such an awesome time.
My friend Amy had her sweet baby girl Aria on April 12th. She is such a beautiful little baby with darkest hair. I am grateful for the wonderful influence of grandmothers. Danny's grandma Pace had a birthday on the 16th. She is such a great lady. My Nannie's birthday was on April 18th. She passed away last June and I still miss her so much. I absolutely love going to Relief Society. Even though it is not the same ward I grew up in, I can still feel her spirit very strong in the meetings. I look forward to the day I will see her again. My parents came into town last Tuesday and were here until Saturday. I was so happy to see them again. It has been nearly four months. Maddy was really happy to see them too. My dad loves to tease and she would give it right back to him. I don't have to worry about her taking up for herself but I think I may need to worry about her being a bully.
Thursday, I had my twenty week ultrasound and my parents were able to go. Baby Jello is still a girl but she was measuring small (by about eight days). If we go by that my due date isn't until September 21st. Jello was also breech and the placenta is laying just over my cervix. I was really hoping to do a VBAC but I guess White Jello is taking her sisters lead. I have been really upset thinking about it. I Do Not want another c-section. I guess I should just be really grateful that we have modern day technology to deliver baby safely but I am really anxious for my next doctor's appointment. On to the best news ever... Danny graduated! Well not officially (he has to take two summer classes) but he got to walk. He will be completely done in August. I couldn't be prouder of him. He has worked so hard. This semester was his hardest yet and he still managed to spend time with me and Maddy and work fulltime. He is so amazing.
Ryan also graduated on Friday. His degree is in secondary education. He will be teaching Math at a junior highschool in Pleasant Grove. Danny and Ryan were able to walk together. After the ceremony we all went out to dinner. And yesterday Edith Diana Francom was blessed. She is so beautiful and petite. I am so glad we were there for her special day. I am so happy just thinking about all the blessings I have in my life. Families are what keeps us grounded and I am glad they are forever!!!!

February Happenings

Maddy:
On the 10th Maddy Jo turned two. She was so much fun to hangout with. We had a family party for her on Sunday. Everyone was there except Tara, Steve, Chris and of course my family :( We missed all of you. We had a delicious dinner thanks to everyone who brought food. I really appreciated it! We had two cakes one vanilla and one chocolate. I don't know why I did that no one wanted to take any with them and I ended up eating most of it. Maddy didn't want any of the cake just ice cream. She loved having her cousins over. She also got some really cute gifts: a baby that she has to take a bath with, a puppy that always has to go for a car ride and an ice-cream shirt that she thinks she always has to wear no matter how dirty it is.

Here are some other pictures of Mads I have been meaning to post but haven't gotten around to. They are of her playing in the what little snow we have gotten and of all her "animals"

Danny:
I continue to be amazed by Dan. This has been his hardest semester for him. He is taking more than a full load of credits, including math and stats and is working full time. He still makes sure he finds time for his little "buddy" and me. We love you so much. On Valentine's Day we said we weren't going to do anything for each other since Maddy's birthday is so close to the day and I had to work. At 5:00 Dan texted and told me to hurry and get home. When Maddy and I got home bubbles filled the air. The next thing I noticed was Danny had cleaned the WHOLE house. It looked beautiful. Dinner was all ready to go. He had ordered Outback and it never tasted so good. Thank you Danny for a wonderful day.

Amber: A couple of weeks ago I had some bleeding. I was really worried. I honestly thought I was having a miscarriage. Danny was so quick to console me and make sure I was okay. On Monday morning I called the doctor who told me to come in right away.
Dr. Dabling said the exam looked good but she couldn't find a heartbeat. I tried not to worry but how could I not. She scheduled me for an ultrasound on Friday. It seemed like it took forever for Friday to come but it finally did. Everything looked great and we even able to see the blinking of the heartbeat. I am so grateful for modern technology and that the baby is doing well. Our due date is September 13th.

I am so grateful for the many, many wonderful blessings in our lives.

Happy Birthday Sweet Maddy

I can't believe Maddy Jo is two today. For the past couple of weeks I have been telling Maddy she was gonna be two on her birthday. When Danny got home from work this morning he woke Maddy up to wish her a happy birthday. Her immediate response... "two!". It was so cute.
We started the day out with a yummy breakfast. Then we went to Barnes and Nobles. I have never seen a child more excited about reading. As soon as she wakes in the morning she wants to read books. If we go anywhere and come back she gets all her books out and wants to read. So as you can imagine she was SOOOO excited to go to the book store. She had such a hard time deciding which ones to get. We finally picked four. Then we went shopping and she had to bring her books with her. We had lunch and off to the Disney store we went to find Minnie. She kept saying Minnie are you? Then we got some clothes and church shoes. We came home for a nap. She actually slept for a little over three hours. I guess shopping wore her out. When she woke up we all went out to dinner and then got a cupcake. It was so fun to spend the day with her. Maddy got lots of phone calls and birthday wishes. She loved hearing my parents and Papa sing Happy Birthday to her.
I am so grateful to have such a sweet, beautiful daughter in my life. Her personality has really come out. She loves to sing and dance. Her smile melts my heart and her laughter is the best sound I have ever heard. She can get a little jealous. She was looking at some pictures the other day. There was a picture of my dad holding a baby. She slapped the picture and said "bampa" no baby. The baby was her! I tried to explain it was her but she didn't understand. I hope she gets better by September. She also loves to give hugs and kisses and chase other kids. She loves learning about Jesus, colors and letters. Maddy Jo we love you so much and are so happy to have you in our lives.

Happy New Years!

I have been such a terrible blogger. Here it is, the middle of January and I haven't even blogged about Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas. That's one of my resolutions, to be better at keeping the blog updated, (among other things).
For Halloween, our sweet little baby was really sick. I felt so bad for her because she was so miserable. I knew she felt bad when she wouldn't even get off the couch. So we didn't even go trick or treating. Luckily she felt great for the ward's trunk or treat.

In November both my parents were able to make it out for Thanksgiving. My dad had been working in Wyoming and drove down and my mom flew out and stayed for almost a week. Also in November Danny's brother Chris left on his mission. He is now serving in the Lima, Peru south mission. We are so proud of him!

For Christmas we spent eleven days in Ga! Danny got us tickets for my birthday. It was so awesome to be there for that long. We got there the day after my mom had a much needed back surgery and we were there long enough for Calder's birthday! He was cute. Maddy Jo and Ava had a blast together. Ava told me Maddy was her best friend. We had a family Christmas party at Clint and Suzy's house. We played a game where we had to toss marshmallows through a wreath. Whoever got the most won a prize. The kids had a ball. Whenever somebody missed Maddy hurried and grabbed the marshmallow and would toss it in. Although the food was fantastic and we had a blast, Nannie was greatly missed. We all talked about things we missed about her the most. I was also a little sad that Granny didn't have a Christmas party which made me miss Pappy too.
On Christmas morning we opened presents but Maddy was so slow opening them we had to finish after church. My parents really spoiled her. She got a huge caterpillar that she kept calling a snake, books, clothes, shoes, movies, and lots of toys. We had to get most of the toys shipped because we couldn't pack all of them.

As you can see we had a great trip. Thank you Danny for making such a huge sacrafice so that we may see our family.
On January 11th we welcomed our newest niece Edith Diana Francom. She is so cute. Unfortunately I didn't get to hold because I was sick.

And our latest news...

We are expecting number two in the middle of September!

August and September 2011 updates

I can't believe how long it has been since I blogged last. We have been so busy with everything I can hardly keep up with whats going on.

August was quite a fun and exciting month. Chris, Danny's brother got his mission call to Lima Peru. We are all so excited and proud of him. He had his mission call for almost a week before he opened it. He wanted to open it with all the family gathered around him. Thanks for sharing such a great experience with us!

Maddy Jo turned 18 months. She loves nursery. I was worried about taking her in. I tried to explain to her, Daddy and Mommy will be right back. We are just going to class and then we will be back to get you. Before I could even finish she took off running and started playing with all the toys. So much for that. Maddy is still a little bully and is biting. We went to Nate and Tiffany's for dinner one night. There was a little boy there, just two months younger than Mads. She got mad because he opened the door to the playhouse (You need to understand first that she is obsessed with doors. She doesn't like them opened). She grabbed him by the throat and pushed him down. I was so embarrassed. I feel like I am always talking to her about being nice. Hopefully soon it will sink in. Maddy isn't always mean. She does love to read books and believe it or not play with other kids. When it gets really hot outside she loves to play in the water. We were even able to go to a splash pad with Lindsey, Max and Channing.

Every year the Pace's have a family Reunion in August. I really enjoy going and seeing everyone. Its usually in a spot up Provo Canyon. It is so beautiful and peaceful there.

Jessica and Lindsey are due a week apart from each other. Jessica is due December 30Th and Lindsey on January 6Th. They both found out within days of the other what they are going to have. Jessica is having a boy and is naming him Calder James. Lindsey will be having a girl and doesn't have name yet. We are so excited to see the new babies.

Danny and his sisters try to make an annual camping trip to Silver Lake. It is gorgeous up there. Danny and I have never camped (I am too chicken) but we really enjoy spending the day up there.

September brought fun and surprising events. We have lots of birthdays to celebrate. Max's is on the 7th Karolla and Casey's are on the 17th, mine on the 24th and Natalie's on the 27th. Danny flew my mom in to come celebrate with us for a weekend. I was so excited and happy to have her here with me. We picked her up from the Provo airport. Maddy immediately knew who she was and ran up to her while screaming "Nonna!". I was so glad she recognized her.
Danny and I have been wanting to take Mads to the Zoo. With my mom here we thought it was the perfect time to go. Maddy loved all the animals, especially the monkeys and tigers (they were actually out walking around). My mom spoiled Maddy while she was here. She bought her a gigantic pillow pet and some books. Maddy loves to lay on her bug as she reads books.
On the day of my birthday, my neighbor friend brought over some homemade yogurt pretzels. Maddy shared with me :) Then my mom paid for me to get my hair done while she watched Maddy. Then we went to lunch up the canyon with Danny's family. Later Danny took us to dinner at Tucano's.... yummy! While at dinner he asked if I would rather have my gift now or at home. I told him now. He got plane tickets for 10 days in Georgia for Christmas! We will be there for when Jessica has her baby! Both my mom and I started crying. Later Danny and I went to a movie. I had such a great birthday! I am so glad to have spent it with such wonderful, fun, loving people. Thanks for a great day!
